FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
USEFUL INFORMATION

General
1. What makes your systems different from conventional security products?
Conventional security is primarily designed to detect, verify and report an incident. Our work focuses on what happens next, particularly during the Response Gap™ between detection and meaningful human intervention. We develop application-specific solutions intended to provide an appropriate immediate protective response during that period.
2. What is The Response Gap?
The Response Gap is the period between detection of a potential threat and meaningful human intervention. During this time an incident may still be unfolding, leaving people, property or infrastructure exposed. Our focus is on what can safely, lawfully and practically be done during this period to help improve the outcome.
3. Do your systems replace conventional security?
No.
Our solutions are designed to work alongside existing security systems such as alarms, CCTV, AI analytics, monitoring centres, access control and armed response. Detection informs, verification confirms, response is notified, but the Response Gap still remains.
4. Does every system use pepper or OC?
No.
OC is only one possible intervention. Depending on the application and required outcome, a solution may involve warning, lighting, access control, water, marking or forensic media, a controlled less-lethal intervention, or integration with other security technologies.
5. What is your protective agent made from?
Where an OC-based solution is appropriate, we use formulations based on Oleoresin Capsicum (OC), derived from capsicum peppers. The exact formulation and delivery method may vary according to the application and operational requirements.
6. Is the OC solution dangerous?
OC is intended to cause temporary irritation and discomfort and may increase discomfort or risk in certain circumstances. Its use therefore requires appropriate system design, positioning, warnings, operating procedures and consideration of the environment and people who may be exposed. Suitability is assessed according to the particular application.
Ordering
1. How do I place an order?
Contact us with your requirements or the application you are trying to address. Where necessary, we will discuss the environment and intended outcome before recommending or configuring a suitable solution. Once the specification and quotation are accepted, production can begin on cleared payment.
2. What is the minimum order quantity?
Most products can be ordered individually. Quantity discounts may be available for larger orders, installers, distributors and commercial projects.
3. How long does manufacturing take?
Our systems are manufactured to order rather than held as finished stock. Typical lead times are approximately 3–21 working days, depending on the product, quantity, component availability and level of customisation. Project-specific systems may require additional time.
4. Do you deliver?
Yes.
Products can be shipped throughout South Africa, subject to courier requirements. International supply depends on the product, destination and applicable transport, customs and regulatory requirements.
Technical
1. Can your systems integrate with my existing security system?
Yes.
Solutions can be integrated with conventional alarm systems, CCTV, AI analytics, monitoring centres, access control, beams, magnetic contacts, panic systems and other suitable triggering or control technologies.
2. Can your systems be used with AI cameras?
Yes.
Where an AI or video analytics platform provides a suitable output or integration method, it can potentially be used as part of the detection and verification process that initiates an appropriate response.
3. Can the systems be customised?
Yes.
Many of our systems are engineered around specific applications, environments and operational requirements. This may include changes to activation methods, delivery arrangements, integration, control and system configuration.
4. What maintenance is required?
Maintenance depends on the system and application. Regular inspection, functional testing and checking of consumables, power supplies, batteries, tubing, nozzles and triggering systems may be required. Appropriate systems should also be serviced periodically to ensure continued readiness.
Support & Warranty
1. What warranty do you provide?
Warranty depends on the product and application and covers qualifying manufacturing or component defects under normal operating conditions. Consumables, misuse, unauthorised modification, accidental damage and normal wear are generally excluded.
2. What are the most common installation problems?
Most installation problems result from incorrect positioning, unsuitable triggering arrangements, poor wiring or power supply, inadequate commissioning, or failure to consider how the system will operate within the complete security environment.
3. Can your systems be installed in existing buildings?
Yes.
Many systems can be retrofitted into existing residential, commercial and industrial environments, although installation requirements depend on the particular building and application.
4. Which industries use your systems?
Applications can include residential, commercial, agricultural, mining, industrial, retail, warehousing, telecommunications, utilities, critical infrastructure, remote sites and specialised security environments.
5. Are installer training and technical support available?
Yes.
Where required, we can provide installation guidance, commissioning assistance and technical support to installers, integrators and clients working with our systems.
