WHO WE ARE

Less Lethal Concepts is a small, independent, specialist operation, developing and manufacturing systems to order and working with clients and security providers to address application-specific security problems.

The work begins with a simple question:

Okay, we've detected it. Now what?

WHY WE EXIST

Modern security can detect a threat, verify what is happening and notify response within seconds. But human intervention takes time. During those seconds or minutes, the incident may still be unfolding. People remain exposed, property can be damaged or stolen, and offenders may retain the initiative.

That period is the Response Gap™

We exist to explore what can safely, lawfully and practically be done during that time to help improve the outcome.

HOW WE WORK

We start with the problem, environment and required outcome, not with a particular product or intervention.

Every application is different. Depending on the circumstances, an appropriate response may involve warning, lighting, access control, water, marking or forensic media, a controlled less-lethal intervention, or integration with other security technologies.

Where OC is appropriate, it is one possible intervention, not the definition of our work.

We don't design the environment around the intervention. We select the intervention around the environment.

Our solutions can integrate with alarms, CCTV, AI analytics, monitoring centres, access control and other security systems.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to help protect people, property and critical infrastructure by making better use of the time between threat detection and effective human intervention.

Through practical engineering, responsible system design and appropriate protective-response technologies, we aim to strengthen existing security and help reduce the opportunity available to a threat during

The Response Gap.

Immediate response does not mean indiscriminate response. It means appropriate, proportionate and controlled intervention when it is needed.

SUMMARY

For more than three decades, our work has been guided by one fundamental principle: Security engineering is fundamentally "The Management of Time".

Detection informs.

     Verification confirms.

    Response is notified.

But what happens before help arrives?

That is the Response Gap. And that is where we focus our work. Protection should not begin only when responders arrive. Where appropriate, protection should begin when the threat is detected.
